Construction Superintendent
Hammer LGC, Inc.is currently seeking a site superintendent to oversee general construction projects.
Duties will include daily project inspections, subcontractor coordination, completion of project reports, and more.
Responsibilities Include:
- Organizing and coordinating the work of craft employees on construction projects.
- Site work and demolition
- Keeping cost records on work performed and materials.
- Controlling the cost of materials and wages on each project.
- Managing the rate of construction in order to complete construction project within established time limits.
- Inspecting the work to ensure and enforce conformity to specifications.
- Must be capable of passing a background security check.
Requirements:
- Minimum five years of experience managing general construction projects and should have specialized knowledge in at least one trade.
- Attention to detail, personal organization, time management and tactful communication skills are required.
- Ability to use a computer and other common office equipment is also necessary as the position generates multiple daily reports and communications which must be stored electronically or sent off-site.
- 30 Hr OHSA certification required.
Construction Project Manager
Hammer LGC, Inc. is currently seeking a Construction Project Manager to manage and oversee general construction projects.
Position Description:
The Project Manager is charged with the completion and satisfactory execution of the entire project, on time and within the established budget. Project managers plan, direct and coordinate a wide variety of construction projects. Project managers may oversee an entire project scheduling and coordinating all design (if required) and construction processes, including the selection, hiring and oversight of specialty trade contractors. A quality candidate must be able to work with little supervision, be self motivated and have an enthusiasm for his work. He must be able to manage a staff and get projects done on time and within or under budget plus keep senior management informed on project/program status. Ideal Construction Project Managers will have their Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Construction Management or Engineering and have a minimum of 3 years experience within the construction industry. Strong Construction Project Managers will have an abundance of experience managing multiple $500K -- $1 Million dollar projects effectively and efficiently. Chosen candidates must be okay with traveling to different job sites and be flexible with changes. Strong Construction Project Managers will demonstrate high levels of written and oral communication skills and be a team-oriented player.
Responsibilities Include:
- Managing the bid package for each project; receive job quotes and takeoff from estimators, negotiate contracts with builders, review contracts prior to submission and have enough experience to identify items beyond the original scope of work.
- Setting up the budget for each job and coordinating change orders and contract addendums with all parties effected.
- Preparing a construction schedule for review by both the Superintendent and VP of Field Operations.
- Maintaining continuous contact between home office and the field concerning job cost information, performance versus actual progress and participating in weekly meetings.
- Communicating with subcontractors on a regular basis regarding job status while maintaining good working relationships to help expedite estimates concerning change orders.
- Coordinating the communications to all parties of a pertinent changes in schedule and costs or scope of work.
- Updating managers and supervisors concerning job status.
- Maintaining job files; responsible for all documentation to be completed and compiling information to ensure accountability.
Requirements:
- BS in Construction Management (Preferred) or equivalent experience
- 5 - 7 years experience with commercial construction projects.
- Experience in renovation projects.
- Served in a Construction Manager, Owners Rep. or Project Manager role.
- Experience in working on federal projects and developing submittal packages.
- Must be capable of passing a background security check.
- 30 Hr OHSA certification required.
- USA COE QCM certification preferred.
